BEIJING, Nov. 5 -- The Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) held a press conference in Beijing on Tuesday morning to introduce information about celebrating its 75th founding anniversary and the participation in the 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, also known as Airshow China.
Senior Colonel Xie Peng, spokesperson for the PLAAF, introduced that on the occasion of its 75th founding anniversary, the PLAAF will organize a series of celebration activities including participating in the 15th Airshow China to present flight performance, static equipment display, themed military music performance and other activities. It will also hold international meetings on military flight training and unmanned intelligence seminars, among others. Outdoor light display activities in cities where the PLA Air Force's units are stationed will also be organized to celebrate the PLAAF's birthday.
The PLAAF will send 36 types of equipment to the air show for flight performance and ground static display, presenting phased results of its equipment development in a multi-dimensional, and systematic manner. The Bayi Aerobatic Team and Red Eagle Aerobatic Team as well as 26 aircraft of seven types including the J-20 and J-16 fighter jets and the YY-20A will carry out flight performances. The static display areas will unveil new equipment such as J-35A medium-sized multi-role stealth fighter jet, HQ-19 surface-to-air missile system, and new reconnaissance/attack unmanned aerial vehicle. Moreover, the cargo hold of the Y-20 transport aircraft will be open to the public .
